Title: Characterization of exoplanetary atmospheres using high-resolution transmission spectroscopy method

Abstract:
Transmission spectroscopy is a technique that allows us to constrain the chemical composition of the atmospheres of transiting exoplanets. I will present the intricacies of the method and show how using high spectral resolution allows us to infer additional parameters compared to the low-resolution method, such as the spin-orbit alignment or the existence of planetary winds. I will then present some results of high-resolution transmission spectroscopy of gas giant planets and show the synergy between ground-based high-resolution spectrographs and space missions such as HST and JWST.
