Human movement tracking systems are expected to generate real-time data that dynamically represents the pose changes of a human body (or a part of it), based on well-developed motion sensor technologies where human movements can be detected using available visual and on-body sensors. Data acquisition is usually bound to noise or error. It is essential to study the structure and characteristics of individual sensors so that we can identify noise or error sources. In particular, information is sought concerning the movement of the whole-body centre of mass; the relative movement between adjacent bones, or joint kinematics; the forces exchanged with the environment; the resultant loads transmitted across sections of body segments or between body segments, or transmitted by individual body tissues such as muscles, tendons, ligaments, and bones; and body segment energy variation and muscular work.
