The stability, both in static and perturbed conditions, of the posture of either healthy or subjects with pathology is a prognostic and diagnostic parameter for the clinicians. This lecture provides the student with an overview of the clinical terms. Subsequently, the instrument used to measure balance and posturography parameters is analysed: the pressure matrix; the attention is focused to the operation principles, the sources of errors and to the variables both measured and obtained with ad-hoc post-processing of the collected data.

La stabilità a riposo oppure in presenza di una perturbazione della postura di soggetti sani e patologici è un parametro prognostico e diagnostico in ambito clinico. Nel modulo didattico si fornisce una overview della terminologia utilizzata in ambito medico. Successivamente si analizza lo strumento di misura utilizzato per misure di parametri di equilibrio e postura: la matrice di pressione, ponendo attenzione al principio di funzionamento, alle cause di errore e alle variabili misurate o ottenute con opportuno post-processing dei dati registrati.
