The differences between our language learning opportunities and our parents’ one are fundamentally two: the first one is due to the increasing study of languages which is practiced at any level of the school (somewhere better, somewhere worse) and also out of it, thanks to specific courses. Our generation has more possibilities, thanks to schools and universities, to study the grammar and the culture of a language and also to travel in those places where the language is commonly spoken (through organized trips and exchanges).

The second one is due to the spread of English and American culture through the media, through the social networks, through the films and the TV programmes, and also through the scientific researches. This aspect keep us in touch with cultures and people even far from us, and provides us some benefits under different points of view: first of all, differently from the past, we are more involved to know what is different from us, and maybe to take the best from it. I think that one of the greatest opportunities for the people of our generation is to have access, through the command of the language, to a wider amount of scientific knowledge, with certainly improves the quality of our researches and pieces of work.
