A lot of young people, especially in Italy, has no idea about "how the world of work works". If the highschool doens't activate any course or stage for the students, I think it's up to the student to take care about his future and find information according to his passions andh his abilities. It'is also possible to interact with a company without the mediation of the school; for example, a friend of mine very good at programming started a collaboration with Google since he was still in highschool. A good resourcefulness is the best way to get an idea about the world of work.
