The Design Studio I is placed at the First year of the second cycle of studies and it aims to offer to students a moment of study about the architectural and Urban project. The master’s degree in Architecture conservation AIM to propose to the student an architectural project inserted in the historic urban fabric.
Students must be able to make appropriate reflections on the urban fabric and about strategy for the town, proposing an architectural solution suited to the place and the context, as well as composed with an architectural language appropriate to contemporary reality.
The course will propose lectures, round table, discussions about the topic, inviting discussants and critics about several approaches and some interesting architectural samples to stimulate the student.
The course takes advantage from notions provided by the Urban Morphology, focusing on urban and architectural design.
The topic proposes an urban place where the student has to do for a formal solution for a aport building, inserted in a general master plan (defined by a group composed max 3 people). The course wants to offer the occasion to understand the role and task that the Schools, loked into the dame block must be able to perform at different scales at the present time, following national and international social, economic and urban needs.
