Aims: To provide an overview of current state of knowledge in the field of aphasia (the study of acquired language impairments). Students will learn about current theories and controversies. By the end of the module, they should be able to place theories of aphasia
in an historical perspective, be able to apply them to the diagnosis and rehabilitation of aphasic patients and understand how aphasia studies should be able to further our understanding of normal language processing as well as inform clinical treatment.
