The aim of the course is to present and discuss with the students the main methodologies of archaeological research:

-           Strategies and methods of stratigraphic excavations in different contexts

-           How to choose the most suitable tools and methods for recording, documenting and archiving field data

-           The main methods for surveying and conducting territorial studies

-           Methods for recovering, restoring, documenting and studying different classes of archaeological materials

-           Aims and strategies for the selection of samples for archaeometric researches.

The various topics will be faced and discussed from a theoretical point of view and through the presentation of specific case studies.
