The
aim of the EXPERIMENTAL TECHNIQUES FOR MATERIALS CHARACTERIZATION is to
understand the most important techniques used to characterize and study the
properties of traditional and advanced materials. Thus, the most important
methods of characterizing materials such as X‐ray
diffraction techniques, thermal analysis measurements as well as basic
measurements of mechanical properties of materials such as strength and
hardness measurements are studied. In‐depth
understanding of these techniques, the preparation of measurement samples, the
performance of measurements and the analysis of measurements are the main objective
and an integral part of the laboratory training.
The
learning objectives of this course are to learn the technical characterization
of technological materials. The exercises introduce students to the mentality
of Engineering Materials as the methods taught in the Laboratory are used
internationally and widely in both laboratory and industrial scale.
