Programma
E’ prevista un’introduzione metodologica degli studi storici e
sociali, quindi un’articolazione delle civiltà europee dal Rinascimento
al Risorgimento, con un particolare riferimento al décalage che si
realizza nel corso dell’etàmoderna tra regioni occidentali e orientali
d’Europa. Infine una prospettiva di storia culturale internazionale
sugli elementi di modernità che caratterizzano l’Europa e le regioni
occidentali dell’Asia, tra fine Ottocento e inizio Novecento,
sottolineando i processi di modernizzazione delle società
(urbanizzazione, centralizzazione, uniformazione culturale e
linguistica) e di emancipazione femminile, il “modernismo” nell’arte e
nella cultura fino alla belle époque nella società e nella moda e nel
costume del primo Novecento, fino alla Grande Guerra, al periodo
interbellico e alla Seconda Guerra mondiale compresa.
The course presents a methodological introduction of historical and
social studies, then an articulation of European civilizations from the
Renaissance to the Risorgimento, with particular attention to the
décalage realized during the Modern Age between Western and Eastern
regions of Europe. Finally, a perspective of cultural international
history on the modern elements that characterize Europe and Western
regions of Asia, from the late Nineteenth and Early Twentieth century,
emphasizing the processes of societies' modernization (urbanization,
centralization, cultural and linguistic standardization) and empowerment
of women, "modernism" in art and culture until the belle époque in the
society and in the fashion of the Early Twentieth century, until the
first XX century, including the Great War, interbellico period and the
II World War.
Obiettivi
Dotare lo studente dell’orizzonte storico dell’età moderna, in una visione di “lunga durata” (dal XV al XX secolo), evidenziando gli aspetti culturali e sociali delle società europee, in particolar modo centro-orientali, e delle propaggini euroasiatiche, con particolare attenzione ai cambiamenti che avvengono nell’ambito del costume e della moda e nella prospettiva degli studi di genere.
To provide the students of a modern age historical horizon, in a vision of longue durée (XV-XX centuries). During the course will be underlined cultural and social aspects of the European societies, mainly Central and Eastern ones, and closer Eurasian regions, with attention to the changes happened in the field of the fashion and in the perspective of the gender studies.
