The main objective of the Laboratory is to experiment the complex process of design products representation, starting from environment observation to reality 3D acquisition, to 2D/3D data geometrical modeling and interpretation to digital representation by static rendering, Augmented Reality and Artificial Intelligence. The latter will be exlored in different step of the product design representation chain, supporting the ideational process to compress the time-to-visualize the final output.
During the course students will learn how to manage the realy-based and virtual models, acquiring the ability to control the dual path of design, from real to virtual and back. In this context, the differences between the representations for the project and for the survey, the scales of representation and the levels of accuracy in the representation and modeling will be investigated as well as the 3D modelling quality in relation with the type of final output.
