The course aims to provide students with the knowledge required for the design and management of safety and maintenance in industrial systems, regarded as complex production systems.

To this end, the course addresses the identification, analysis and management of hazardous and accident-related phenomena that may arise in industrial operations. It provides an overview of the relevant legislation, technical regulations, standards and established best practices, and introduces system analysis methodologies aimed at anticipating and managing unexpected events in the operation of machinery, equipment, facilities and complex industrial systems.
