Objectives

At the end of the course, students will have a basic knowledge of:

  • Postcolonial theory, including its key authors and concepts;
  • The modern and contemporary history of the Maghreb (Morocco, Algeria, Tunisia);
  • The historical development of Maghreb literatures from national independence to the present day;
  • The main theoretical reflections and artistic-literary contributions of Maghreb writers and intellectuals from the time of national independence to the present day.
