This course invites to explore the environmental and social impacts of the fashion industry, embracing 'less is more' and 'quality over quantity.’ Into this diversified scenario the themes of local and handcrafts are configuring as the more adherent veins that can figure the current design and productive scenario. Catalyzing these phenomena, the course 'Fashion against Fashion' wants to dig into them in order to investigate new products, process and consumption habits focusing on a single accessory, and using the approach of Strategic Design as tool to propose and design accessory item. For these purposes, the structure of the course will be dived into theoretical lessons, to set the general and specific frames of the scenario, and the peculiar traits of the subjects; into design tasks, to analyze and reveal the relevant possibilities to work on and to build new fashion business.
