Knowledge and Understanding:

Students will gain comprehensive knowledge of the bioarchaeological record,
emphasising methodologies and case studies in
palaeoanthropology and skeletal biology. They will develop the necessary skills
to analyse adaptive dynamics of geographical distribution and
specific cultural contexts from a diachronic perspective.

Ability to Apply Knowledge and Understanding:

Students will learn to employ analytical methods and critically
evaluate human biodiversity, with particular attention to the interaction
between biological phenomena and cultural practices.

Critical
Thinking and Judgement:

Documenting and analysing one or more case studies will enhance students' ability to critically assess biological, archaeological, and historical sources.

Communication
Skills:

Students will develop critical thinking and public speaking skills by
presenting the results of their analytical and critical studies of selected
case studies. Peer interaction and discussion will be encouraged in Group Works and Reading Groups.

Learning
Skills:

Students will master the specialised terminology of bioarchaeology,
palaeoanthropology, and skeletal morphology, focusing on human variability in
the past. They will be able to engage with both textbooks and advanced scholarly literature independently.
