The 'New craft and industry design studio' is organized as an
integrated course, through two modules: 'Design for new typologies' and 'Mechanical
tests'.
The Course develops 3 specific aspect of design activity: 1. product
design, 2. design&technological requirements of materials and components,
3. Technologies and processes for prototypes.
The integrated course will be organized in:
1. Lectures (Technologies, Design Theories and Examples, Issues of
morphological mechanical behaviour)
2. Workshop Studio (about the design-work topic)
3. Deliveries and Final Work
For steps 2 and 3, students will work on their single project.
Objectives
The course will provide students to know, to understand and to know how
and to manage a design activity of product, interpreting the quality and
performance of the materials as elements which can drive the project; also
investigating the forms in relation to physical-mechanical characteristics and
the available technologies of production.
