This course aims to investigate, through some case of study, aspects of Greek and Roman culture documented through material and literary sources. In particular, with reference to topographical, iconographic and functional issues, the testimonies of Greek and Latin authors will be analyzed and compared with the material evidence (inscriptions and archaeological data). The aim is to provide the interpretative tools most in use in the reconstruction of various archaeological and historical-artistic contexts. Furthermore, the course aims to provide the basic skills to recognize good and bad practices for the enhancement of the archaeological heritage and the risks of a non-virtuous policy.
