This course is designed for learners of advanced English who
want to function effectively in an international business environment by
developing both their English language & communication skills and their intercultural
competence. By the end of the course students will be able to: read and
interpret specialized texts in management, economics and finance - write a
business report, profile, etc. - give a presentation – understand the role of
culture in international businesses and how it can impact negotiations - reduce
conflict in verbal communication - advice companies on reconciling cultural
differences.

The course consists of two modules:

MODULE A – Communicating business in English

This module provides intensive work on language use,
vocabulary and the essentials of workplace and corporate communication, with
ample coverage of the most important topics and issues in today’s economic and
business environment: international trade, advertising, marketing, use of
social media, Human Resources and personal branding, financial reporting, CSR,
etc.

MODULE B – Intercultural
Communication for global business



This
module examines the concepts associated with culture and communication and how
this relates to global leadership.  It
analyzes intercultural communication case situations and integrates conceptual
understanding with “real life” intercultural experiences and observations in
management.
