The course introduces the major theoretical and methodological developments in anthropology and its main areas of analysis, with an emphasis on ethnography and how it is used to produce theories. The first part of the course introduces the history of anthropology from its origins to the current day. The second part focuses on the theoretical framework of the anthropology of religion to explore the relationship between religion, spirituality and health, in order to appreciate the contribution anthropology can make to interdisciplinary research.
