The aim of the course is to provide the basic elements of soil mechanics and use them to recognise and manage some typical geotechnical problems of large areas, focusing in particular on the stability of natural and artificial slopes.

Teaching material will consist in course notes, slides and videos.

The exam will consist in an oral exam with the discussion of the assignments introduced during the course. The presentation of the assignments is mandatory and represents a prerequisite for the success of the exam.
