The course introduces students to empirical methods for econometrics in health economics, using cross sectional and longitudinal data.

Topics include:

  • Review of probability and statistics
  • Regression analysis: linear models (OLS), logistic, and Probit models
  • Introduction to longitudinal methods: fixed and random effects
  • Instrumental variables
  • Matching estimators and propensity score
  • Difference-in-differences (DID)
  • Regression discontinuity
