This is a one-semester 'lettorato' course for second-year magistrali students. It accompanies your course with the docente as mostly a workshop, to help you do translations in small groups in class, in a fun way. This will help you when you take your oral exam with the docente and prepare your written portfolio, with all its translations. Practice will make you more confident on the day of that exam.

        My own exam is written and consists of the translation from English into Italian (or another language if you are an exchange student from another country: speak to the docente about what we can do) of a brief passage. The mark you receive, here on the elearning platform, will be entirely on this written exam, since the number of you actually attending my workshop tends to fluctuate. NOTE: my exam is valid for an entire year.

       In addition to translations in class, we also look at contemporary issues in the translation 'business', to which your teacher belongs, as a translator in cultural fields such as art, architecture, and film.
