Suger di Saint-Denis e Bernardo di Chiaravalle, tra innovazione e resistenze. L'architettura gotica: gli inizi 

Il corso intende dare un quadro esaustivo delle origini dell'architettura gotica nell'Occidente europeo durante la seconda metà del XII secolo, tenendo conto soprattutto del suo antefatto da individuare nell'evergetismo dell'abate benedettino Suger a vantaggio dell'abbazia di St-Denis alle porte di Parigi (1135-1151) e nella contrapposizione tra "innovazione e resistenze", queste ultime incardinate negli ideali che sottostanno al progetto edilizio irradiato dal monastero cistercense di Clairvaux al tempo di Bernardo di Chiaravalle (1133-1153).
