The study of thermofluids integrates various disciplines of the field of thermal sciences. This field consists of topics ranging from thermodynamics to fluid mechanics and heat transfer, which basic aspects are discussed in various introductory courses. The concept of energy is the common denominator in all these topics.

This course is designed to provide an advanced beginner / intermediate level overview of the phenomena involved in thermofluid study, to develop methodologies for solving a wide variety of practical engineering problems, and to present useful information concerning the performance and design of energy systems and processes.

Practise sessions are integrated in the course to allow the student to apply problem solving techniques followed by the instructor, as well as Self-Evaluation Tests. At the end of the course, the student will be able to understand and analyse the heat transfer phenomena for single phase and two-phase regimes encountered in various systems and components typical of the energy engineering field.
