Aims of the course:

To develop a basic understanding of Newtonian
mechanics, physics of fluids, thermodynamics, electricity and magnetism.

To introduce the fundamental concepts of force, torque,
work, potential energy, kinetic energy, mechanical energy, power, impulse,
linear and angular momentum.

To illustrate the use of conservation laws in a
variety of problems in physics.

To introduce the concepts of temperature, heat
and entropy applied to simple thermodynamical systems.

To introduce the concepts of electric field and potential,
magnetic field and currents.

To illustrate in detail how to solve a wide
range of physics problems.
