OBJETIVES

The objective of this course is the foundation of a theoretical-critical knowledge on the main themes of landscape architecture, such as culture and operations in the transformation project of open spaces, in any meanings, dimensions, in any urban, suburban or extra-urban situation.

The course will analyze some figures of international importance in landscape architecture and some relevant themes that have developed in this discipline, up to the most widespread current trends.Among these: Landscape architecture: landscape, garden, environment; Landscape architecture: formation of an idea and a discipline; The fathers of the discipline; Post-war landscapes; The idea of public space; Landscape and ecology; Landscape Urbanisme, Water Cities, Nature and Architecture; Landscape, garden and art.
