The course aims:

  • To know the environmental factors that influence human health, with particular reference to the built environment.
  • To know the study methods used to quantify human exposure level to environmental factors and quantify health effects.
  • To know the World Health Organization and its role in managing a global health response to health threats.
  • To understand the potential in terms of reducing health risk that could result adopting good practices to prevent environmental risks.

At the end of the course, the students should be able:

  • To identify health risks that could arise from incorrect planning /designing/ management of natural and built environments.
  • To collect and analyse environmental and health data
  • To know good technical practices to prevent disease and environmental risks
